"The Kleine Draken Food & Wine Pairing Evening was held at Avron's Place in Sea Point on 12 October 2010.
Tickets was for sale to the public at R180 per head. On arrival we started with a welcome glass of Kleine Draken Vin Doux Sparkling Wine."
"The Kleine Draken Sauvignon Blanc was served with a selection bruschetta with toppings, barrekita's and mixed roast nuts to be passed around. At the table we began with the Kleine Draken Natural Sweet White Wine served with a Hot smoked peppered salmon served on a baby leaf salad and complimented with a lemon aioli.
To devour we had the Kleine Draken Cabernet Sauvignon with Mustard and herb crusted, French-trimmed lamb cutlets served hot off the coals on olive oil and lemon crushed potatoes, roasted vegetables and a liberal serving of rich jus. To end we had the Kleine Draken Natural Sweet Red with the rich dark chocolate brownie filled with dates and fresh pecans and served with home made nougat ice cream and garnished with fresh strawberries.
Coffee and tea was served to sober up everybody. The Winemaker gave a very informative talk on the winemaking of kosher wines and presented each wine with the different food courses they had through out the evening.
"We started at 19h30 and the last guests left around 22h30. This was the first Food & Wine Pairing done by Kleine Draken in Cape Town. If you missed out on this one, there will be another Kleine Draken Food & Wine Pairing evening in 2011."
